HCAF 2021 will feature over 40 documentary and narrative films, short film blocks, Q&A’s, dance performances, DJ sets, and workshops. This year’s theme, The Third Coast, a loving lens through which to celebrate and explore the Gulf Coast region and especially Houston where the term was coined, and its film, art, music, cultures, performance, food history, peoples, threats, and opportunities. HCAF 2021 will feature our annual CineSpace short film competition with NASA, our new Borders | No Borders regional short film competition, and a new imagining of our festival’s guiding programming conceit: “local meets global.”
