HCAS is partnering with Films at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston for the Young French Cinema Series on March 4th and 5th, featuring two first time features by women directors. Hard Shell, Soft Shell screens Friday, March 4th at 7:00pm in Brown Auditorium.
In this dramedy about love, class, and finding oneself, a handsome 20-something oyster farmer plunges into depression after a botched proposal to his actress girlfriend. To win her back, he immerses himself in dancing lessons with his gorgeous friend. As he gets dating advice from a trio of feisty female relatives, he’s reality-checked by pals. A wryly feminist update on romance, Hard Shell, Soft Shell features stunning Mediterranean scenery and an infectious soundtrack from the French-Arab diaspora.
